Alternative Therapies
The healing properties of water have long been recognised, with hydrotherapy being one of the top recommendations when it comes to relaxation and relieving pain from chronic musculoskeletal aches and pains. There are alternative therapies that are in place to help complement this practice such as the use of colours and reflexology.
Colour has been shown to have a profound effect on moods and state of mind. The different colours in the spectrum each provide their own unique properties. Red helps to channel your passion and desire, while violet is great for creating feelings of intimacy. The colour green helps you to live in the moment and be at peace with the here and now. Teal helps to create a balance between your emotional and logical sides, while blue is great for achieving a sense if contentment and tranquillity. Purple helps you to get in touch with your creative side and helps you to appreciate art in its various mediums, colours and forms.
Reflexology on the other hand also aims to help people relax by ensuring that the energy through the body is flowing adequately. This practice stems from over 5000 years ago and started in China, Egypt and India. It is believed that by applying pressure to reflex points that energy flow would be restored, because calcium obstructions are loosened and nerve pathways are freed. Jets installed in the hot tubs are positioned in such a way that it targets specific pressure points. Two of the most widely used types are the jets placed at the feet as well as at the palms.
The power of the hot tub should never be underestimated, especially when paired with facets of colour therapy and reflexology. These seemingly unimportant aspects can go a long way to helping you feel healthier in the long run.
