How a Christening Gown or Robe Should Be Cleaned
Because of the great deal of sentimental value that a christening gown or robe can have it is an important material to watch for when it comes to taking care of it. When it needs to be cleaned it will need to be properly handled.
In many cases a christening robe or gown will be something that can only be dry cleaned. This is because of how some materials and oils that can be used for home cleaning purposes can damage the fabric of the clothing. The instructions that are used on the tag for the clothing will also need to be followed during this process.
Hand washing can be done but it will help to take some things in mind. Mild soaps should be used and any fabric softening or bleach materials should be avoided. After the material is washed any wrinkles can be steamed out. Steaming is better than ironing because it does not heat the material at a high rate like an iron can.
